Joan S. Toth
Joan S. Toth, 78 formerly of Allentown, passed away on April 12 at Old Orchard Health Care Center in Bethlehem Twp. She was born in Palmerton to the late Jane (Depew) and Russell P. Strait Sr. and was predeceased by her husband Charles J. Toth Jr. in 2006. Joan had served a President of Local #1944 IBEW from 1968 to 1992 and had in the past also served as their Treasurer and as Financial Secretary. She had also been a Telephone operator for Bell of PA, President of PA State Electrical Workers, Member of PA AFL-CIO - Community Service Committee, Vice President of AFL-CIO - PA, Recording Secretary of the Telephone Coordinating Council, United Way Labor Advisory Committee, Penn State University Labor Advisory Council, I.U.P. Labor Advisory Council, Past Recording Secretary for Lehigh Valley Labor Council, a member of St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church in Allentown and the Ladies Guild at church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Russell P. Strait, Jr.
Survivors: Sons: Charles J. and wife Patricia Toth of Wind Gap, and Robert R. and wife Sylvia Toth of Bethlehem, 4 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grand Children.
Services: Visitation 8:30-9:30 AM Tuesday April 17 at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St., Allentown to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephens of Hungary Catholic Church at 10 AM.
