Joan F. Cope, age 98, of Hellertown, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was born August 1, 1925 in Pottsville, the daughter of the late Francis and Sarah (Long) Flanagan.

Joan graduated from Allen High School. In her younger years, she worked in a military aircraft factory during the years of the war. She then worked for many years as a clean room technician for Western Electric until she retired in 1991. She was known for her bright smile and long walks anywhere and everywhere. Joan also thoroughly enjoyed going to garage sales and taking bus trips to Atlantic City with her late husband, Edward S. Cope.

She is survived by son, Edward F. Cope and companion Cindy of Hellertown; two grandchildren, Edward P. Cope of Hellertown and Andrea J. Cope of Emmaus; and one great-granddaughter Kendra M. Cope of Hellertown.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Edward S. Cope; son, Jeffrey B. Cope; three sisters, Evelyn Weber, Dorothy Beltz, and Miriam Flanagan; and two brothers, James and Donald Flanagan.

A Public Viewing will be held Monday, May 20, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. all at Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. 1619 Hamilton St, Allentown, PA 18102. Interment will immediately follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
