Jeffrey "Jeff" John Kates Sr., age 59, of Coplay, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. He was the husband of Connie Kates.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Richard Earl and Marie Anna Wetzel.

Jeff worked for Nestle and also for Canada Dry Ginger Ale.

Jeff loved his sweets, even if he could not eat much of them. He enjoyed walking around flea markets and would never pass up the opportunity to stop at a yard sale. He enjoyed listing to CCR and collecting wolf related things. Jeff would often be seen wearing his rings, watches and necklaces. He had one of the loudest voices you have ever heard and often he would make sure his was the last voice you heard.

In addition to Connie, Jeff is survived by his daughter; Krissy Kates, Brother Edward and Allen and sister in law Leslie.

Jeff is preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Jr. and brother John.

Funeral Service for Jeff will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
