Janice Mahr, 85, of South Whitehall Township, passed away on July 11th, 2025. She was the long-time devoted companion of Robert Deremer. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Paul Romig. Her stepfather was William Trinkle.

Janice Mahr attended Pierce Business School of Philadelphia and was a graduate of Lehigh Count Community College, where she earned her LPN Nursing License to practice nursing. She worked at the Lehigh County Prison as a nurse for years. Before retiring, she also worked at Good Shepherd home, Cedarbrook Nursing Home, and Ridgeway Phillips Private Duty Nursing for a total of thirty years. Janice was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church.

She was known for her kindness and giving nature. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. They meant the world to her.

Janice is survived by son Jeffrey R. Mahr of south Whitehall; daughters Lori A. Parton (Todd) of Salisbury Township and Anne Smith (Richard) of North Carolina; brother Richard Romig (Babara) of Macungie; nephew Gregory Romig (Renee) of Iowa; grandchildren Troy, Chad, Tyler, Kyle, Kaitlyn, and Gracie; and her great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Janice is predeceased by her son the late James J. Mahr.

A graveside service for Janice will be held on July 18th at Grandview Cemetery 2735 Walbert Ave, Allentown, PA 18104 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Janice's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
