James Michael Schellenberg, age 78, of Bethlehem PA, died peacefully at Muhlenberg Hospital on Saturday July 18, 2026. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Adolf and Mary (Mack) Schellenberg.

He was the loving husband of Kathleen (Makal) Schellenberg married in 1990. He had previously been married to Joanne (Zaia) (Schellenberg) Valek.

He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1965 and Allentown College (now DeSales U) in 1969. He served in the US Army for 3 years. He worked for Bethlehem Steel, Lehigh Data Systems and Versyss. He started his own computer company, Energy Systems and Technologies. He enjoyed handball, motorcycling, roller skating, golfing, scuba diving, tennis, skiing, bicycling and pickleball. He loved telling stories and making people laugh.

He is survived by: son, Thomas, husband of Michelle (Heilman) (Thomas) Schellenberg; daughter, Beth, wife of John Burgo; brother, John, husband of Dianne Schellenberg; grandchildren: Graham Schellenberg, Maryn Schellenberg, Sophia Schellenberg, Jack Burgo, and Samantha Burgo; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by brother, Richard J. Schellenberg of Bethlehem; sisters: Lenore Mathews of Whitehall and Marjorie Cauley of Ocala FL.

Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be directed to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the USO.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Weber Funeral Home at 502 Ridge Avenue in Allentown on Monday July 27th at 11am. The burial service will be private.
