JAMES W. LONG
James W. Long, 86, of Henderson, NV, formerly of Allentown, died August 30th, 2006 at Nevada State Veterans Nursing Home. He was the husband of LaRue (Schock) Long. They were married 60 years in June 2006.
Jim was a bookkeeper for Salisbury Township in Allentown retiring in 1985. Prior to the township, he was employed as a bookkeeper at Bee, Incorporated (automotive parts supplier) and later at Bohlen, Gross & Moyer (clothing) also in Allentown.
He was a member of Henderson Presbyterian Church.
Jim was a veteran of World War II, four years, serving two years Adjutant in India and Burma, retiring as a Captain.
Survivors: Wife, LaRue; Daughter, Barbara A., wife of Roger A. Secord of Henderson; Son, James W. Long, II of Henderson; Sister, Henrietta Long of Allentown; Four grandchildren, three step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren of Henderson.
Services: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton Street, Allentown. Viewing: 1:00 PM until time of services.
