James William Hartz Sr., 77, of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 26, 2025. He was born in Abington, Pennsylvania, to William and Edith (Allison) Hartz and was the devoted husband of Nancy Lee (Waldrup) for 57 years.

James was deeply family-oriented—everything he did was for his loved ones, and he worked hard to provide for them. During his children's younger years, the family enjoyed frequent fishing trips and baseball games. As grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, James took great joy in taking them to Pennywell's fishing pond, the boat playground, and on tractor rides. Holidays were always special, especially Halloween and Easter, when the whole family would gather and pass around a giant chocolate Easter bunny to share.

In quieter moments, James enjoyed sitting on the patio with a cup of coffee and his beloved wife, Nancy. He often described them as "two peas in a pod" and never failed to greet her with a warm "hello, beautiful." These peaceful times were often interrupted by James's good-natured humor—he'd shout, "It's too quiet in here!" followed by a chuckling "that's a funny ha-ha," just to make everyone smile.

James took pride in maintaining his home and yard. He was a bit of a backyard mechanic, often known for "rigging" something to work—though it usually had to be "un-rigged" later to fix properly.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, James is survived by his children, James (Kristine) Hartz II and Melissa (Stephen) Miller; grandchildren Kaylee, Emily, Bradley, and Daniel; two great-grandchildren; brothers Michael Hartz and Joseph Hartz; and sister Kathy Jorgenson.
