James George, age 99, of Allentown, passed away February 10, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-17th street in Allentown. He was born September 3, 1922 in Allentown, the son of the late Albert and Zahie (Abraham) George.

James graduated from William Allen High School and served in the United States Army for two years, from 1943 until 1945, during World War II. He ranked as corporal and trained under the Alpha Company 554TH Engineers Battalion. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. James also worked for the state of PA as a sales clerk in various liquor stores for most of his life. His hobbies included puzzles and playing solitaire on the computer. He was a member of the 6TH Ward Democratic Club in Allentown for many years.

James is survived by his loving three nieces and two nephews, Janice Hipple of Allentown, Pat Hipple of Allentown, Jennifer George and partner Onnie Diaz of AZ, Jim Hipple of Allentown, and Edward (Michele) George of Harleysville, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nine siblings.

Professional Services are entrusted to Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. in Allentown. A Public Viewing will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 A.M. all at Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. 502 Ridge Avenue, Allentown, PA 18102. Interment will immediately follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Allentown.
