Herbert Herb" G. Stoudt, 72, of Allentown, PA, died Saturday, July 9th, 2011, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Laura Gail Stoudt for 28 years. He was raised in the town of Cementon (Whitehall) and was the son of the late Ralph and Bertha (Steckel ) Stoudt. He was a 1956 graduate of the Whitehall-Coplay High School. After 40 years of employ, Herb retired as Technical Manager from Tarkett of Whitehall.
Herb was an accomplished musician who played the tenor saxophone and clarinet, who won state band titles while in high school, and who took that skill into his adult life when he formed a dance band known as The Royal Imperials. Herb was also an athlete who excelled at baseball and loved playing golf. He was always willing to lend a hand with a car repair or other help as needed, and during his retirement was a mentor to many young people in his family and neighborhood who affectionately called him Grandpa Bert.
Survivors: Herb is survived by wife Gail; brother, Robert Stoudt of Allentown; son Thomas M. Stoudt of Whitehall; daughters Sharon Stoudt of Northampton and Eileen Bristow of Hillsborough, NC; (step children) Kevin Little, Kaaren Kieffer of Allentown; Kristi Heatherstone of Ashland, OR and Kandi Little of Hollywood, FL. He also had seven grandchildren, Bobby, Jeremy, Brenden, Abigail, Dawson, Steven and Rachel as well as a great granddaughter, Sierra. Herb was predeceased by sister Betty J. Kresley in 2010.
