Helen "Heidi" R. Bench
Helen "Heidi" R. Bench of Allentown went home to be with the Lord July, 12th 2014. She was predeceased by her husband Peter Bench---they were married for 40 years. She was a member of The Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena, where she was a member of the Golden Agers and served as secretary. Helen had a love of traveling and made kiffles of extraordinary quality. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who enjoyed playing cards and puzzles. At the age of 80 she hiked to the top of a volcano in Hawaii. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a remarkably positive outlook on life.
She is survived by her son Steven Bench, husband of Nancy Bench; Daughters: Linda DiCesare, Yvonne Leibensperger, and Michele Bench-Kompa, wife of Dr. Thomas Kompa; six grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Services: A calling hour will be held at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St., Allentown, PA, Wed. July 16th, from 10-11am. The funeral service will be at 11am. The committal service will take place at the mausoleum at Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Please wear something purple in Helen's memory.
