Harry F. Lorenz, 92, of Wyomissing Hills passed away on September 20, 2016 at Reading Hospital. Born May 13, 1924, he was the son of Harry F. Lorenz Sr. and Leah (Herman) Lorenz of Tremont, PA. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the south Pacific during World War II. He attended Penn State University receiving an engineering degree in 1950. Harry was employed at Carpenter Technology for over 30 years as a departmental superintendent.

After retirement, Harry took up horseback riding and served as a volunteer on the Appalachian Trail and at the local arboretum. He was able do some traveling including a Second World War history tour back to Saipan and Tinian, and a riding tour in Ireland. He cared for his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth (Betty) until her death in 2008. Harry is survived by his three daughters: Mary and Margaret of Massachusetts, and Elizabeth of Virginia, as well as their partners Lyndell, Trish and Steve. He will be greatly missed by his dear friends Barbara Macczak and Jill Walker, his caretaker Jane McGinley, and his longtime friends, the Barretts. All have become members of Harry's, "extended family".

Memorial contributions may be made to the conservation organization of your choice as Harry generously supported many environmental causes. A private interment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery. www.weberfuneralhomes.com
