Harold R. Olenwine, 89, passed away Jan. 23 at Phoebe Nursing Home. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harold and Mabel (Bender) Olenwine. Harold was a 1939 graduate of William Allen High School, and attended the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Army as a Medic in the Army Medical Corps in the S. Pacific. He attained the rank of Staff Sgt. Harold married his wife Arlene G. (Reichard) on Oct. 3 1943 at Rhodes General Hospital Chapel in Utica, NY. He worked as a salesman for National Distillers & Chemical Corp. for many years retiring in 1987. Harold volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Coplay American Legion. He was a member of St. John's U.C.C. in Nazareth. Survivors: Wife; son, Dennis L. and wife Nancy of Ladson, SC; daughter, Debra J. wife of Frederick C. Sanek of Schnecksville; sister, Marilyn Smicker of Coplay; two step-grandchildren, Kelly and Jim; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Sherwood. Services: 10am on Friday at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St. Allentown. Please call from 9am till time of service.
