Gloria Medl, 91 of Allentown, went home to the lord on July 8 surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 6, 1930 to Max and Johanna Siessmayer. She worked at the Cigar Factory and the American Lung Association. Gloria was a member of St. Francis of Assisi parish and was very active in the church, where she had been president of the Altar and Rosary Society, and helped with church bazaars, festivals and baking for church events. Gloria was an avid baker and provided specialty desserts for many families in the Lehigh Valley. She enjoyed traveling, decorating, and baking but family was her priority. She was preceded in death by her parents Johanna and Max Siessmayer, sister Josephine Markert, sister Dorothy Snyder, brother Louis Siessmayer, and sister Marie Frick. She is survived by her husband Joseph Medl, children : Mary Jo Souders, Karl Medl, Leanne Saylor and her twin brother William Siessmayer. Grandchildren Joseph, Michael, Brielle, Tiare, and Kolbe and 5 Great Grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Friday July 15th starting at 9:00AM to be followed by a Mass of Christain at 10:00AM Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Allentown. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
