Giuseppina "Josephine" Palmieri, age 92, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown. She was born June 11, 1930 in Italy, the daughter of the late Alberto Zanni and Genoveffa Cangiano.

Josephine was born in Teano, Italy and emigrated to the U.S. in 1957, where she later became a proud U.S. citizen. She lost her husband at an early age, but she remained devoted to her family. She learned how to drive and loved it. She worked as a seamstress for Harvey clothing, Phoenix, and eventually retired from Grief Clothing Factory. She was a fantastic cook, you knew she was cooking from the aroma in the hallways. She was also known for her green thumb, she could plant a stick in the ground and it would grow. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena for many years.

She is survived by her two sons, Albert and wife, Patti Palmieri of Allentown and Anthony and wife, Robin Palmieri of Chester Springs; five grandchildren, John, Michael, Christopher, and Stephen Palmieri, and Ashley Palmieri Collins; four great-grandchildren, Cassandra Mejia, Mikeal, Leila, and Mason Palmieri; one great-great-granddaughter, Eliana; one brother, Dominico of Italy; one sister, Margherita of Italy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins all residing in Italy.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in 1966 by her loving husband of twelve years, Giovanni "John" Palmieri; and three brothers, Giuseppe, Paulo, and Vincenzo Zanni.

Professional Services are entrusted to Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. in Allentown. A Public Viewing will be held at Weber Funeral Homes, P.C. 1619 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA 18102 on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. followed by the entombment in Grandview Cemetery in Allentown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, 1825 W Turner St, Allentown, PA 18104.
