Obituary

Girolama Geri Falco, an Italian original renowned for her pasta sauce and her unwavering devotion to her family, passed away on April 17 in her Allentown home at the age of 85. Born in Caivano, just outside Naples, Italy, she and her late husband, Giuseppe Falco, came to the United States by boat after World War II, only able to speak a few words of English. She quickly settled into Allentowns vibrant Italian community of the 1950s and 60s, where she worked at BabyGro for 25 years, bought her first home, and had her only son, Louis Falco-making her the true embodiment of a bygone American Dream. Surivors: Geri cherished her family, her son Louie, her beloved grandchildren, Joey, Jason, and Chelsey Falco, and her daughter-in-law, Marilee Falco. More than anything, Geris love and commitment to her family were a constant reminder to those who knew her of what really matters in this unpredictable world. She spent every waking minute trying to make life a little bit easier, a little bit happier, and a little bit more satisfying for those around her, and by and large, she succeeded. She will truly be missed. The family would like to thank Geris churches (Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Sacred Heart), her caregivers, and her friends for their phone calls, visits, prayers, and support. Services: A calling hour will be held on Monday, April 22 at 12 p.m. followed by a Blessing Service at 1 p.m., both at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton Street, Allentown. Contributions to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Allentown.
