Obituary

Georgia Mae Seng, 88, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, passed June 16th, 2025. Born January 23rd, 1937 to parents George and Marie (Groessler) Mihlsimmer, she was the wife of James "Jim" E. Seng for over 40 years until his passing in 2023.

Georgia worked as a legal secretary for many years. She was an accomplished fisherwoman, even bringing in bigger catches than Jim on their yearly trips to lake fish in Canada. This love of fishing is something she and Jim shared with their grandchildren; even involving them in a "fishing expedition" where they placed trout in the pool cover so all the grandchildren, ranging from two to seven years old at the time, could have a fishing competition. She and Jim also biked together, often taking their grandchildren on rides. Georgia was known for her green thumb, maintaining an extensive garden of flowers and plants. Georgia had a close knit group of her "girls" that made up her bridge club. Especially after her retirement, Georgia enjoyed sewing everything from clothes to bags to jackets to quilts. She attended many fabric shows to look for new materials, and art shows. Georgia and her son Scott would make a trip to wander the aisles of Costco for a few hours when he would come to visit. On Christmas Eve, she would host the family to celebrate the holiday. Family was very important to Georgia, and she was an amazing and involved grandmother.

Georgia is survived by her son Scott C. (Debra) Schumacher of Minnesota; step-sons Peter A. (Debra) Seng of Allentown and David A. (Jolene) Seng of Allentown; step-daughter Carole A. Seng of Washington; and grandchildren Zachary, Emily, Nicholas, Jennifer, Alexander, and Makayla.

In addition to her parents and husband Jim, Georgia is predeceased by a grandson Matthew and brother James Mihlsimmer of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.

Services in Georgia's memory will take place Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at Norcross-Weber Funeral Home 101 N. Main Street, Coopersburg, PA 18036. A calling hour will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m. Georgia will be laid to rest with her soulmate Jim at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
