George J. Kostick passed away on May 9 at the age of 65. He was born in Freeland, Pa to the late: Rose and George Kostick and has been married for 36 years to his loving wife Ceil. George was a graduate of MMI Preparatory School in Freeland, Pa and then from Lehigh University in 1968, where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration. His career spanned 35 years from Western Electric thru its evolution to AT&T, Alcatel Lucent, and Agere Systems, where he was a Director of Engineering. He published writings and designs on Linear and Digital Bipolar Integrated Circuit with Robert F. Hornberger and Rich C. Miller. As a Deputy Chief of Digital Bipolar I.C. Product Engineering and Delegated Design Engineering he worked on solid state diffusion and low pressure chemical vapor deposition and he coordinated the introduction of oxide-isolated logic (OXIL) to manufacturing. George was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and served on the Water and Sewer Authority of South Whitehall Twp. Survivors: Wife Ceil, Son Dave and wife Patti, Grandchildren Lauren and Scott, Sister Lucille and husband George, Nephew Jeff and Fianc Laura, Niece Kim and husband Brad, along with many cousins. Services: A calling will be held on Saturday May 12 beginning at 9:30 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM both at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave. in Allentown. Contributions in memory of George, people are asked to do Mass Cards at the church.
