George John, 91, of Macungie, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2012. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Haddad) John. Born in New Salem, PA, he was the son of the late Abraham and Elizabeth (Monsour) John. George received a degree in metallurgical engineering from Lehigh University after which he worked at Textile Machine Works in Wyomissing, PA and then was Vice President of Emmaus Foundry and Machine Works until he retired. He was an Army veteran of WWII. George was an active member of the former Faith United Church of Christ and served on the Consistory for many years. He belonged to the Rotary Club of Emmaus and the Allentown Masons. George was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Survivors: son, Kenneth A. and wife Gillian; daughters, Georgia A., wife of Curtis Baehler, and Audrey K., wife of John Belford. Grandchildren, Kathryn, Kristine, Stephen, Jordan and Kia; sister Kathryn John.
Services: Funeral Service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Weber Funeral Home 1619 Hamilton Street, Allentown. Visitation will be from 1:30pm until the time of service at the funeral home. www.weberfuneralhomes.com.
