Obituary

Genevieve Davis, 83, of Allentown, passed away at the home of her daughter where she had been battling her illness for the past several months on September 21, 2006. Born in Hudson, PA she was a daughter of the late Charles and Hannah "Day" Noti. On December 11, 1944, she married Fred Davis with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage. Her late husband Fred was a partner of the family owned scrap metal and recycling business, Mike Davis & Sons that was started in the 1930's by her father-in-law. Genevieve was a member of St. George's Antiochian Orthodox Church were she was a past member of the Ladies Altar Society. She also worked for the Lehigh Cigar Factory, Western Electric, and was a sewing machine operator at several area factories. Genevieve will be remembered as a strong and loving mother, grandmother and friend. Survivors: Sons, Michael C., husband of Bonita; and Fred Davis, Jr., husband of Nadia, both of Allentown; daughter, Tina, wife of James F. Alotta Sr.of Allentown; grandsons, Sean McClafferty, Michael C. Davis II, Marc C. Davis, James F. Alotta, Jr., and Anthony Davis, and a granddaughter, Julie Davis; sisters, Myrtle Marie Pagnano of Allentown and Bernadine Kershner of Fountain Hill. Genevieve was predeceased by her husband and five brothers and three sisters.
Services: 11:00 am, Tuesday, September, 26, 2006, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Ave., Allentown, PA.
Visitation: From 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Monday, September 25 at the Church, and Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Arrangements are being handled by Weber Funeral Homes, P.C., 502 Ridge Ave. Allentown, PA, (www.weberfuneralhomes.com)
