Fred Charles, age 97, of Bethlehem, PA passed Sunday, October 6th. Fred was born July 14th, 1927 to parents John and Mary (Youkim) Charles in Jacksonville, PA. He is preceded in passing by his wife Ruth (Chamberlain) of 59 years.

Fred was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. After his service, he had a career working for Lehigh Structural Steel for over 30 years. In his free time, Fred enjoyed playing in his bowling league, and spending time with his family.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Carol Hecht (Tim); grandchildren Richard (Megan) Troxell III and Nicole Troxell; great grandchildren Richard IV, Domonic, and Elizabeth "Ellie" Troxell; brother Carl Charles; Sister-In-Law Delores; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Ruth, Fred is predeceased by siblings George Charles and Catherine Werner.

A viewing for Fred will be held at Weber Funeral Home, 502 Ridge Ave., Allentown, PA 18102 on October 11, 2024 at 10 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. and burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
