Obituary

Francis "Frank" J. Dolinich, of Wescosville, passed away on March 21 at the age 93. He was born in Pittsburg, Pa to the late Joseph and Karolina (Switzer) Dolinich and has been married for the past 61 years to his loving wife Victoria (Gutowski). Frank served for 23 years in the Navy, achieving the rank of Lt. Commander. He started his service as a naval aviator in the Pacific during WWII, flying over Iwo Jima as the flag was raised. Frank continued to serve thru the Berlin-Cuban Crisis and the Korean War, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and Philippine Liberation Victory Medals After leaving the Navy, he worked for Mack Truck as a Off Highway Service Engineer. Frank was member of the Knights of Columbus in Allentown and a past Grand Knight and member of the Knights of Columbus, #1280 Father Carey Council in Carteret, NJ. Frank belonged to St. Thomas More Catholic Church and M.O.S.T. at the church. He also was a member of the Navy League, the National American Legion, and had been a past president of T.R.O.A., which is now M.O.A.A. Survivors: Wife Victoria, Three Daughters: Nancy and husband Jack Hope, Margaret and husband Scott Brantley, and Janice and husband Ronald Menke. Son John F. and wife Mary Beth Dolinich. Three Grandchildren: Matthew and Courtney Brantley and John S. Dolinich Services: A viewing will be held on Monday March 26 starting at 11AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon both at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave. in Allentown.
