Francis "Frank" A. Bertalan, age 101, of Allentown, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital. He was born August 16, 1920 in Allentown, the son of the late Peter F. and Elizabeth (Vogrincsics) Bertalan. He was married for 57 years to his loving wife Olga "Ronnie" K. (Kachuk) Bertalan until her passing in 2014.

Frank graduated in the Class of 1938 from Allentown Central Catholic High School. He served in the US Army during World War II for four (4) years, from 1942 to 1946, and earned the title of Master Sergeant. He then attended Villanova University and graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Air Products and Chemicals in Trexlertown for 30 years. He was a founding member of St. Thomas More Church as well as an usher and contributor for many years. He was also a member of the Allentown Hiking Club, where he maintained the Appalachian Trail for many years. He enjoyed getting together with his retired friends from Air Products at the "Willows." Frank was known to be a well respected and true gentleman who never breathed a word of disparagement towards anyone or anything.

Frank is survived by his three sons, Peter J. (Christine) Bertalan of Allentown, Paul J. (Lori) Bertalan of New York, and Christopher J. Bertalan of Allentown.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by three brothers, Stephen, Joseph, and Frederick Bertalan; and three sisters, Margaret Gotthardt, Mary Paukovits and Theresa Roma.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the mass of Christian burial is celebrated at 11:00 AM, all at St. Thomas More Church in Allentown with the Reverend Monsignor John P. Murphy officiating; 1040 Flexer Ave, Allentown, PA 18103. Professional Services are entrusted to Weber Funeral Homes.

Frank's last request is that in lieu of flowers, a prayer be dedicated for all the souls in purgatory.
