Florence Esther Zitzman 89, of Wyomissing, Pa. passed away on June 17, 2016 at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been a patient since June 13. She was born on June 12, 1927 in Reading, Pa. , a daughter of the late John and Emma (Hahn) Hartenstine. Raised in Morgantown, she married Manfred S. Zitzman in 1952, who pre-deceased her in 1997. Florence had a mellifluous voice and was named "Miss Voice of Reading" in 1951 by Bell Telephone. She later worked as a Telephone Operator at Reading Hospital where her pleasing voice was known throughout the halls. She retired in 1989. Florence loved her children, her cats and her beautiful garden full of flowers and wildlife. Fun-loving and young at heart, Florence had many friends. She approached every day with joy and enthusiasm. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son Roland and her daughter Lenore Koehler. A private graveside memorial service will be scheduled in the near future.
