IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Felix
Roman
October 14, 1935 – June 1, 2024
Felix Roman Nunez stepped peacefully into God's heavenly presence on Saturday, June 1, 2024. He was 88 1/2 years old. Felix was the husband of the late Julia M. Roman (Rodriguez-Colon).
He was born in Lares, Puerto Rico and was the last remaining child of the late Avelino Roman and Juana Nunez. He has an extensive family in Puerto Rico and New York who love and respected him very much. Felix worked very hard all his life to provide for his family. He was most proud of the work he did as a courier for the NYC Police Department in the 1960's and the years he spent as a Taxicab driver on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. He finished his labors as a steelworker. He loved music and dancing, though he was not very good at either. And, especially loved that he was mistaken for the late maestro Tito Puente.
He is survived by his children, Wanda Roman, Felix R. Roman, Sr. (Sherri Ann Sebring), and Rev. Evelyn Leon (Rev. Jose A. Leon). His legacy will continue through his grandchildren, Jose Luis Martinez (Limary Hernandez), Wanda A. Laureano, Shawn M. Laureano, Lanise E. Martinez (William, Jr.), Felix R. Roman, Jr. (Cynthia), LaToya E. Pacheco (Rafael), Tisha B'av Santiago (Anthony Torres), Sara J. Breisch (Adam) and Rachel Leon (Dwight Holloway). He also has two grandsons from the heart, Joey J. Rivera (Evelyn) and Anthony J. Rivera. Mr. Roman has 17 great grandchildren and one precious great great grandchild of the heart on the way. He loved his grandchildren very much.
In his last year, he fully embraced his faith as a Catholic and attended Mass daily. We are thankful to the staff and administration of Holy Family Senior Living for the care provided in his last year of life.
A Celebration of Life will be held in October 2024 on what would have been his 89th birthday. If you would like to honor Felix's memory, please make a tax-deductible donation to Always on Mission.
