Evelyn R. Dorward, 77, of Allentown died Sunday, November 19, 2006 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. She was the husband of the late Carl W. "Pete" Dorward, Sr. who died July 6, 2004. Born in Fullerton she was a daughter of the late Louis Sr. and Evelyn (Beck) Keppel. Evelyn was a home maker and a loving mother and nana. She was a professional softball player, a catcher for the Kenosha Wisconsin Comets and was traded to the South Bend Indiana Blue Sox of the All American Girls Professional Softball League. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Allentown. The family would like to express a special thank you to Lincare for their support and caring throughout the years. Survivors: Son, Carl W., Jr. and wife Darlene Dorward of Smethport, PA; daughters, Judith wife of Michael Hancharik of Emmaus, Carleen wife of Daniel F. Hoffer and Bonnie Dorward both of Whitehall, Donnalee wife of the late James A. Wilson and Victoria Grantham both of Allentown ; brother, Louis Keppel, Jr. of Coopersburg; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
