Emil Madea, 94, of Allentown, passed away April 17, 2018. Born in Egypt, (now Whitehall) Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John and Justina (Kiss) Madeya. Emil was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Irene (Griech) Madea.
During his career, Emil worked as a presser at Modern Clothing in Allentown for forty years until his retirement while also running and maintaining the family farm with his brother, Bernie. He was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Union – Jednota Branch 796 Egypt, PA the Pike Township Sportsmen's Association in Pikeville, PA, a life member of the Cetronia Fire Company No. 1, and a lifetime member of Cathedral Church of Saint Catharine of Siena. In his free time, Emil was an avid sportsman, especially loving hunting and fishing, and he was a huge fan of the Phillies baseball team.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his daughter, Elaine (Madea) wife of Robert Klucharich, his brother, Bernard J. Madeja and his wife Dorothy, and nieces and nephews.
Emil was preceded in death by his sister, Emma (Madea) Zgebura, and two brothers, John and Edward Madea.
SERVICES: A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 9AM to 10AM at Weber Funeral Home 1619 Hamilton St, Allentown. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11AM the same day at Cathedral Church of Saint Catharine of Siena 1825 W. Turner St. Allentown.
