Ellison G. Beers, Sr.
Ellison G. Beers, Sr., 87, of Allentown, passed away July 20, 2006 at Phoebe Home Nursing & Rehab Center, Allentown. Mr. Beers was born in Allentown to the late Harley E. and Effie M. (Wolle) Beers. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Youngkin) Beers. He was a member of St. Peter's U.C.C. Church. He was Deacon of St. Peter's U.C.C. for 12 years. He retired from Bethlehem Steel after 30 years as a spark tester and inspector in the Metallurgic department. Prior to Bethlehem Steel he worked for the Railway Express Agency for 8 years. He graduated from Allentown High School in 1936. He was a past commander for the Knights of Malta and the St. James commandeers #76. He was a member of the Boy Scouts Life Rank Troop 22, Allentown. He was an honorary member of the United Steel Workers of America, local 2596 AFL-CIO. He was a Life member of the Mercantile Club in Emmaus. He was predeceased by an infant son, Gregory D. Beers and a companion, June M. Lucci.
Survivors: Daughter, Charlotte M., wife of Angelo Magliane, III of Allentown; Son, Ellison G. Beers, Jr., husband of Margaret of Allentown. Grandchildren, Sharon, wife of Neil Goldberg of North Wales, Christine, wife of Brian Mantel of Bethlehem, Todd Magliane husband of Beth of Whitehall, and Craig Magliane husband of Laura of Allentown; Great-Grandchildren, Elliott, Alexander, Colin, and Evan.
