Elizabeth A. Baker Begley, born October 2, 1933, in New York City, entered eternal rest peacefully on July 6, 2018. Elizabeth was a 1954 graduate of the College of Mt. St. Vincent with a BS in Elementary Education. Elizabeth was the first woman in the Allentown Diocese to receive the pro ecclesia et pontifice medal in 1975. Elizabeth was very involved in her former parish, St. Joseph Church, in Limeport, PA; she was a volunteer for many years at Sacred Heart Hospital; and a Eucharistic minister at Lehigh Valley Hospital.
Elizabeth was a founding member and guild member of the PA Shakespeare Festival. Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved husband William A. Baker who died in 1994 and her second husband, Joseph Begley (2008); daughters: Margaret (1977) and Mary (1996) and granddaughter: Caitlin (1994). Elizabeth is survived by 7 sons; 4 daughters, 16 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation services at Norcross-Weber Funeral Home located 101-B North Main Street, Coopersburg, PA 18036 on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M and again on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. precisely at St. Joseph Church located at 5050 St. Josephs Road, Limeport, PA 18060. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery.
