Edward P. "Skip" Stalter, 79, of Allentown died Thursday July 1, 2008 at Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's in Lower Saucon Twp. Born in Allentown on June 1, 1929, he was a son of the late Ralph G. and Clare (Schaffer) Stalter. He was employed by Sears for many years, and before retiring ended his career at Sears in the paint department. A recipient of numerous recognitions for his dedicated service to his many customersincluding many letters of appreciation from those served by him; he was a valued long-time employee. Skip attended Muhlenberg College and Penn State (Allentown extension). He was a life-long member of St. Francis of Assisi Church of Allentown. He served as an usher for some 50 years; and was active in fund-raining events of the church. Skip's brother-in-law stated: "Here was the man for whom Diogenes so diligently searchedand never found". That pretty well sums up the kind of man Edward Paul Stalter was. Preceded in death by his parents and a son Michael, he enjoyed dancing to the music of local entities. Known as an extreme extrovert, he exhibited interest in all people and conversed on a personal level with all those he met. Survivors: Sister, Clare wife of Lamar Farrel; as well as a nephew Gregory Farrel, and nieces Eileen Wally, Jocelyn Paulus and Regina Stohr. Other valued in-law relatives of his former wife (Agnes Gallo) are Frederick and Mary Ann (Gallo) Bloom and Donald and the late Joan (Gallo) Zamborsky.
