Edward Hugh McGee
Edward Hugh McGee 79, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 27, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Allentown, he was the youngest child of the late John and Kathryn (nee McGonigle) McGee. He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Lehigh University and Yale Law School and practiced law in Allentown for 50 years. He was an Eagle Scout and also served in the US Army. He hiked the entire 2000 mile Appalachian Trail; he loved to travel, and enjoyed the theatre & art and trying new & varied ethnic recipes. He took great pleasure in walking in Trexler Park with friends and naming the geese. Most of all he loved a good joke and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 47 years Helga, his sons Gary, Sean and his wife Susan, his daughters Helene and husband John McCarthy, Carol and his grandchildren Kayce, Madeline, Andrew, Owen, Finn & Liam and his brother Joseph and his wife Rose.
Services: Visitation, Wednesday, September 1st 10:30am to 11:30am followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am all in the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Siena, 1825 W. Turner St. Allentown.
