Edward Lukas
Edward Lukas, 82, of Catasauqua, died March 20, 2011 at his residence. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Michael and Caroline (Columbo) Lukas. He was the husband of the late Margaret J. (Heckenberger) Lukas for 38 years until her death in 1992. He was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, Catasauqua. He served in the United States Marine Corp. during WWII. He was an iron worker with Local 36 in Bethlehem for 30 years until retiring in 1981.
Survivors: Sons, Edward J. Lukas, Jr. of Coplay and Michael D. Lukas of Danbury, CT; Daughters, Mary H. Lukas, wife of Alex Mery of Allentown and Anne Margaret Lukas of Breinigsville; Grandchildren, Augusta and Alexander Mery and Melissa B. Lukas; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Paul, and five sisters, Margaret Lloyd, Bette Bruno, Pauline McDermott, Helen Dubinsky, and Martha Shaplen.
