Edward August Goldschmidt, 85 of Allentown died Tuesday June 20, 2006 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Agnes E. (Haffner) Goldschmidt. They would have celebrated their 57th anniversary on June 25th. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Andrew and Cecelia (Nickles) Goldschmidt. He was a technician for Bell Telephone, Bell-Atlantic and now Verizon, retiring 1983 after 38 years service. He was a professional photographer for many years specializing in wedding photography. He served in the National Guard and the US Army from 1940-45 in the 2nd Battalion in Europe and North Africa during WW II. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church of Allentown. He was an avid reader and loved poetry and history. His life centered on his family and will be deeply missed by all. Survivors: Wife; children, Diane Banus and husband Steve of Northampton, Linda St Cyr and husband Jean of Enosburg Falls, VT. Robert and his wife Nancy of Allentown, Carol Guanowsky and husband Glenn of Allentown, Gail Nobles and husband James of Nazareth and Donna Buss and husband Dale of Lancaster; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
