Obituary

Edward S. Cope, of Allentown, passed away on January 31 at the age of 93. He was a devoted family man, born in Akron, Ohio to the late William P. and Martha Cope and last March he celebrated 67 years of marriage to his loving wife Joan F. (Flanagan). Edward had served with the 8th Air Force Station of the U.S. Army Air Corp as a waste gunner on a B-17 bomber during WWII. He was in the trucking industry for 39 years, and retired from Modern Transfer in 1976, after 28 years as a driver. He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey B. Cope, brother William J. Cope, and sister Betty Beisel.

Survivors: Wife Joan F. Cope, son Edward Cope, grandchildren Andrea J. Cope and Edward P. Cope, and great granddaughter Kendra M. Cope.

Services: A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 4, from 9:30am to 10:30am, and will be followed by a service at 10:30am. Both will be at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton Street in Allentown. www.weberfuneralhomes.com
