Edna M. Weighknecht Niemy, 97, died June 1, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born in Springfield Twp. on Sept. 29, 1918; she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha Mindler. She was the wife of the late Alex Niemy and Clifford Weighknecht.
Edna was a lifelong member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed her time with the Senior Prime Timers. Edna was a homemaker for many years and spent the last 39 ½ years working for Thermco Products in Quakertown until retiring at the age of 96 on Feb. 28, 2015. She was a lifetime member of the Upper Saucon Ladies Auxiliary.
Edna was outgoing and independent, and loved going to the casino and amusement parks. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Edna was predeceased by a son Herbert Weighknecht, and a brother, George Mindler.
SURVIVORS: Children, Willard Weighknecht and his wife Anna, Pauline Schneider and her husband Kenneth, Nancy Wilinsky and her late husband Floyd, Clifford Weighknecht, Jr. and his wife Sandra, Robert Weighknecht and his wife Linda, Betty Weighknecht and her married partner Gwyn, and JoAnne Blake and her husband Thomas, Jr.; Daughter in Law, Marlene; 18 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren,; and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: 11:00 AM, Monday, June 6, 2016 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2170 Rt. 212, Coopersburg, PA 18036. Viewing: 9:00 - 10:45 AM, Monday, at the church.
