Dorothy (Dot) A. Godin, 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Neffsville Nursing Home in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was born April 27, 1944 in Ravenna, Ohio. Dot was the daughter of the late Thomas and Eleanor (Garrett) McGill.

Dot was a loving wife to her husband of 30 years, Jim. They met in 1979 and in 1993 Dot asked Jim to marry her to help care for him when he was diagnosed with cancer and also to help him better himself. They spent many years camping together with their adopted daughters, Brandi and Carrie. Dot enjoyed reading, especially on her Kindle. She also had a strong passion for trading books.

She is survived by her husband James (Jim) Godin; daughter, Brandi Godin and her fiancé Shawn Smith III of Lancaster, PA; sister, Rose Thomas of Lancaster, PA; sister Donna Minturn and husband George of OH; son-in-law Tim Hamilton and granddaughter, Brooklyn Hamilton, both of Lancaster, PA. She is predeceased by her daughter Carrie (Godin) Hamilton.
