Donald Engler
Donald E. "Don" Engler, 77, of Coopersburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lanark, PA, on Sept. 27, 1933, he was a son of the late Calvin and Marian (Link) Engler. Donald was the husband of Mary (Grandizio) Engler with whom he celebrated 54 years of marriage on Sept. 22. Don served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He and his father owned and operated Lanark Plumbing and Heating. He worked for Bethlehem Corp. for over 32 years as a machinist. Don was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Limeport, the American Legion, and the Grundson Lodsch #14. Woodworking was Don's passion in life. He also enjoyed gardening, traveling, watching the Phillies, and was an avid Tony Stewart fan.
Survivors: Loving wife; Daughter, Donna, wife of Donald Smith of Bethlehem; Son, Daniel and companion Paula Schnaufer of Coplay; Daughter, Deborah, wife of Scott Stauffer of Coopersburg; Son, Dean, husband of Deidre of S. Whitehall Twp.; Daughter, Monica, wife of Todd Reinert of Emmaus; 10 Grandchildren, Andrew, Heather, Cory, Lauren, Alex, Allison, Dayne, Drew, Leah, and Kyle "Buster"; one great grandson, Cristian; and one surviving brother.
Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM, Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church-Limeport, 5050 St. Joseph's Rd, Coopersburg, PA. Calling: 9:15 - 10:15 AM, Monday, at the church.
