IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dexter Leamon
Dew
January 30, 1961 – March 3, 2020
Dexter "Decky" Leamon Dew went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2020. Born in Newark, New Jersey he was the youngest son of the late Leamon and Shirley (Hall) Dew.
After graduating from Barringer High School in Newark, NJ he went on to work at the Greater Valley YMCA in Allentown. While he worked hard, he also had many hobbies. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys, loved watching western movies, shooting pool, listening to music, and he was always happy to eat a fish dinner. He was a champion boxer, one of the top boxers in Newark, even having his hands licensed.
Dexter will be remembered for his achievements but also for his quiet and humble personality. He was funny and loved to joke but was always even-toned and level headed.
He is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Karen, wife of Paul McClendon of Elizabeth, NJ, Craig Dew of Seattle, WA, and Patricia, wife of Rudolph Artis, of Wilson, NC; his nephews, Kaheem McDonald and Hassan Stephens, his niece, Jalisha Dew, and his aunts, Earnestine Dew-Williams of Los Angeles, CA and Helen Strickland of Newark, NJ.
A viewing and service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 1PM to 3PM all at Weber Funeral Homes 1619 Hamilton Street Allentown, PA 18102.
