Dennis J. Sweeney, 92, of Allentown died Tuesday May 27, 2008 at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Dennis and Elizabeth (Kromer) Sweeney. Dennis worked in the blast furnace for Bethlehem Steel for 25 years before his retirement. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Cross-Keys, where he was a former cook and the Austrian-Hungarian Club all of Allentown. He was a P.O.W. while serving with the US Army during WWII. Survivors: Sister, Grace Mertz of Florida; friend, Jeanne A. Owens with whom he resided.
