David Newcomer passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 10th, 2026 after a short battle with brain cancer. Born on January 23rd, 1954 in York, PA to the late John and Joyce Newcomer, Dave grew up on his parents' farm in Glen Rock, PA before moving to the Lehigh Valley to attend Ryder Tech. After graduating in 1973, he spent the next 50+ years in the automotive industry as a quality control engineer. That same year, he met the love of his life Rose after friends fixed them up on a blind date, and they happily celebrated their 50th anniversary last May.

A lifelong tinkerer, there wasn't anything Dave couldn't fix, build, figure out, or improve: from clocks to radios, to cars and musical instruments—which he could also play. He loved telling stories and jokes, music, grilling, traveling, spending time with his family, and a garage full of beer. He is survived by his loving wife Rose, their son John and his partner Lisa Wright, and their daughter Jennifer and her husband Nicholas Chase. He is also survived by his siblings Ellen Jane and Larry—all of whom will dearly miss his quick-witted sense of humor, open-hearted sweetness, and eager willingness to help.

Services will be held on Tuesday, Feb 17th at St. Joseph's Church (5050 St. Joseph Rd. in Coopersburg, PA). There will be a calling hour from 9-10 followed by a funeral Mass at 10. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Devon House Senior Living. The family also asks that you please raise your next beer in Dave's honor.
