Obituary

David M. Fletcher, 70, of Ottsville, passed away peacefully February 11, 2025. Born in Plattsburgh, New York, he was the son of the late Maurice Everett Fletcher and Marjorie (Morris) Fletcher. David is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Gay E. (Reigle) Fletcher.

At the age of 17, David enlisted in the US Marines. He went on to serve honorably for seven years (1972-1979) quickly earning the title of staff sergeant by the age of 21. During his service, he traveled to many countries including Italy, China, Japan, German, and the Philippines. He served as security detail for the NATO Commander-in-Chief of the Allied Forces of Southern Europe. Achieving many decorations and skills. He was a rifle expert and a pistol marksman, receiving a national defense medal and good conduct medal. In his younger years he was an avid skier, skiing around the world. In his free time he loved his Harley's and the Eagles, he was happy to watch them win the Superbowl this past Sunday with his family.

In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly remembered by his children: William David Fletcher and Renee Lynn Fletcher, and his younger sister, Diane "Baby D" (Fletcher) Sherman and her husband Scott Sherman.

A celebration of life will be at a later date to be determined.
