Christine L. Bauer, 98, formerly of Allentown, died Wednesday November 21, 2007 in Manor Care Health Services, Bethlehem. She was the wife of Walter A. Bauer, Sr. for 56 years before his death February 16, 1995. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Bessie (Frederick) Wieand. Christine was a graduate of Sacred Heart School of Nursing and the Allentown Business College. She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U. and employed with the union over 40 years in Allentown area mills. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the former Hari-Gari Club of Allentown. Survivors: Sons, Wayne W. Bauer of Bethlehem and Walter A. Bauer, Jr. of Palmerton; daughter, Lois A. wife of Larry D. Matz of Hellertown; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
