IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christian Gerard
Baus
June 7, 1989 – February 4, 2021
Christian Gerard Baus passed peacefully from this earth in the comfort of his home while surrounded by family at the age of 31. Born June 7, 1989, he entered this world as the fifth child of Ammon and Maryanne Baus, his adoring parents, and became the beloved youngest sibling of his four older brothers and sisters. He brought great joy, happiness and love to all his family members.
While unable to verbally communicate, Christian had a special way of acknowledging those he interacted with, such as crinkling his right eye in order to get a kiss from his dad, vocalizing sounds to sing along with his mom and even yawning loudly when he had had enough family time. He enjoyed being read to, listening to music, watching movies (especially Disney ones) and receiving physical therapy that allowed his tight muscles to be stretched. Most of all, he liked to travel with his parents, and had the joy of visiting many places and family members near and far, including multiple trips to Walt Disney World, Virginia, Georgia, Connecticut, North Carolina, the Jersey Shore, California and Hawaii. Christian even had the privilege of enjoying once in a lifetime experiences such as swimming with the dolphins in the Florida Keys and touring the White House!
Christian attended Easter Seals of the Lehigh Valley, Mercy School for Special Learning in Allentown, PA and HMS School For Children With Cerebral Palsy in Philadelphia, PA. Each of his teachers, paraprofessionals and administrators provided great assistance and love, recognizing Christian's unique abilities and helping him reach his potential. Christian's greatest love was found in time spent with his large extended family, including his brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, four nephews, six nieces and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who visited him and enveloped him in love.
While Christian's passing has left a tremendous hole in the hearts of his family, they are brought comfort knowing he is now free of pain and suffering. In his short lifetime, Christian taught his family and all around him the important lessons of patience, kindness, understanding, acceptance and the truest meaning of unconditional love. Christian's time on earth was their greatest blessing.
Christian is survived by his parents, Ammon and Maryanne, sisters Jennifer (Christopher) O'Hara and Marie (Eric) Traceski; brothers, Ammon (Lisa) Baus and Gregory Baus; nieces (Kelsie, Sophia, Cailyn, Avery, Kylie and Delaney) and his nephews (Declan, Brendan, Zachary and Connor) as well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 10, 2021 at St. Joseph Church, 5050 St. Josephs Road in Coopersburg PA from 9-11 am followed by Mass. Immediately following, interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia PA.
