Charles E. Shannon
Charles E. Shannon, 86 of Allentown, passed away April 8. Charles was born in Bethlehem to the late: William and Ellen (Nonnemaker) Shannon and was a resident at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in South Whitehall Twp. for the past 4 years. He had served as a M.P. for the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater, mostly in Italy and Turkey. Charles had worked for many years for Jones Motor Co. as a dock man in Allentown. He was predeceased by his 1st wife Margaret Yocum Edmiston Shannon, his 2nd wife Grace A. (Guenther) Piper Shannon, 2 Step-Sons Dean and Lee Edmiston, and a Step Daughter Audrey Turissini.
Survivors: Step Daughters: Judith B. Grim of Schnecksville, Susan P. Reiss of Jacksonville, Fl , Sara J. Thierer of Emmaus, 20 Step Grandchildren and Many Step Great Grandchildren.
Services: Visitation 6:30-7:30 Pm with a service at 7:30 PM at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 Hamilton St., Allentown. Contributions: To the Hospice of St. John in Allentown.
