Obituary

Charles F. J. Shankweiler, 75, passed away Feb. 6 at Lehigh Valley Hospice. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Leroy and Margaret (Devers) Shankweiler. Charles was the husband of Shirley (Zeglowitsch) with whom he would have celebrated 56 yrs. of marriage this month. He was employed by the Bethlehem Steel as a heavy equipment mechanic for 38 yrs. prior to his retirement in 1993. Charles was an Army veteran who served during the Korean War with the 32nd Inf. Regt. He was a member of the Korean Veterans Assoc., American Legion Post #937 in Whitehall, VFW Post 7293 in Egypt and the Fullerton Fire Co. Survivors: Wife Shirley; Sons: Larry and wife Patricia of Northampton, Timothy of Long Swamp Twp., and David and wife Susan of Orefield; Daughter Susan wife of Raymond Nocella of Mount Laurel, NJ.; two grandchildren Alyssa and Mikayla; brother, Donald of Greely, Co.
