Catherine F. Opatovsky/Barker, 55, of Allentown passed away Thursday, March 30th in her home after a long battle with cancer. Born in Englewood, NJ, she was the daughter of Virginia and the late Frank Southard. She graduated from Bergenfield High School and earned an Associates in Arts in Business Administration from Lehigh Carbon Community College in December 2014. She enjoyed baking and travelling, as well as garage sales, flea markets, and antiquing. She loved to collect interesting perfume bottles, salt and pepper shakers, floaty pens, and kaleidoscopes. Always focused on the lighter side of life, Cathy loved stand-up comedy and loved to make people laugh. She would always take the opportunity to watch The Fugitive, The Shawshank Redemption, or Field of Dreams on television no matter how many times she had previously seen them.
Cathy was a member of the Pennsylvania Live Steamers, Aikenback Live Steamers, Lehigh Valley Garden Railroaders, and a member of the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railway Museum in Alna, Maine.
Survivors - Catherine is survived by her loving partner, Jim and her children Matthew and Sarah, her mother Virginia, siblings Patricia, James and Linda, niece Samantha, and nephews Christopher, William and Steven.
Services - Viewing will be held Monday, April 3rd, from 5-8 AM at Weber Funeral Home, 1619 W. Hamilton Street, Allentown. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 4th starting 9 AM at St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church, Allentown.
