Obituary

Bernard Ben" P. Ferry, 79, of Coopersburg, passed away on Saturday Sept. 8, 2007 at his home with his family at his side. Born in Fountain Hill, Pa on October 20, 1927, he was the son of the late Patrick and Stella (Volk) Ferry. Bernard and his wife Elinor (Lambert) celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in Aug. Bernard worked as a brakeman for the Bethlehem Steel for 31 yrs. prior to his retirement in 1978. He served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. Bernard was a member and a past Commander of the VFW Post 3405 in Coopersburg, a member of Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church in Colesville, he also served on the Coopersburg parade committee for 25 yrs, was a member of Ridge Valley Rod & Gun Club, the Coopersburg Fire Co. and a life member of Spring Valley Rod & Gun Club, . Survivors: Wife; son, Kelly V. Ferry ; daughters, Susan J. LaBelle, Lynn A. Ferry, Christie M. Maurer, Carol L. Becker, and Nancy J. Andrews; 10 Grandchildren; sister, Mary Kortvely ; brother, John Ferry. He was predeceased by son Staff Sergeant Bernard Patrick Ferry. Services: A viewing will be held on Monday September 10 from 7 - 9PM at Norcross-Weber Funeral Home, 101B Main St. Coopersburg. On Tuesday September 11a viewing from 9:30-10:15am to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am both at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike in Colesville.
