Obituary

Barbara Ann Scull, 83, of Coopersburg, passed away on Saturday July 4th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born September 6th in Quakertown, she was the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Krug) Sersen. Barb, as her friends knew her, attended Liberty High School and earned her diploma. She worked a variety of jobs including Sure Fit, Pizza Hut, Seafood Shanty, and Curves. Her primary occupation however was raising her four children, and later helping to raise her grandchildren, and then great-grandchildren. Barb loved to take cruise vacations, and traveled to many wondrous ports including all over the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Alaska, passing through the Panama Canal, and her greatest adventure, a three week cruise to Australia, followed by a two week cruise to New Zealand. She loved to bake, was an excellent cook, took up knitting, enjoyed reading, and always had her patio decorated in beautiful flowers throughout the summer. Her greatest love, however, was her family. She was always available to them, and helped whenever she could. She will be deeply missed. Barb is survived by her husband of nearly 49 years, Joseph Scull; her daughters: Deborah Thompson (John); Donna lorio (Michael); Beverly Kulp (Jess); and her son Thomas O'Rourke, Jr. (companion Sharon Beamer); grandchildren: Jennifer Kiprislis (Michael); Dennis Yeager, Jr. (Odessa); Stephen Siderias (Molly); Tess O'Rourke; Matthew Rust; Sam lorio; Trisha O'Rourke; Nina lorio; and Joseph O'Rourke. Great-grandchildren: Taso; Blake; Gia; Cole; Raelyn; and Luka. In addition to her parents, Barb was predeceased by her sister Patricia Tomko. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 10th at the Norcross Weber Funeral Home in Coopersburg. Visiting starts at 9:30, followed by the service at 10:00. Interment will follow at Holy Savior Cemetery in Bethlehem. Shiva details to be posted at a later time. The family has asked in lieu of flowers a donation be sent to the American Cancer Society in her name.
