Obituary

Anthony P. Jerant, 82, of Coopersburg, passed away Jan. 21 at St. Luke's Hospice. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Anton and Florence (Morrell) Jerant. Anthony was the husband of Maureen T. (MacNamara) for the past 56 years. He served our country in the Navy During WWII. Anthony was a 1951 graduate of Penn State, and received his masters in 1972 from the University of Scranton. Anthony was employed as a counselor at the Allentown State Hospital for 22 years until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Limeport, and also the Primetime Club at the church. He was also a member of the Coopersburg Lions Club, and had served as the zone and regional Chairman for the District 14-K Lions International. Surviors: Wife; sons, Richard J. of Wellington, FL, Anthony E. of Ft. Myers, FL; daughters, Maureen of Bethlehem, Peggy Philapavage of Allentown, Faye Stocker of Kitnersville; grandson, John Anthony Philapavage; sister, Mary Geiger; brother in law, Jerry MacNamara; sister in law, Margaret O'Neill; many nieces and nephews. Services: Memorial Mass to be held in the church on Thursday 10am, please call from 9am till 9:45am in the church, St. Joseph Road in Limeport.
