Anthony Barone, M.D., of Salisbury Township, passed away on February 21 at the age of 73. He was born on August 18, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York to Frank J. and Eleanor R. (Ferraioli) Barone and has been married to his loving wife Maryann for the past 49 years. In 1960, Anthony graduated from Columbia College, NYC, with an AB degree, he then pursued his education at New York Medical College where he received his MD degree in 1964. He served his internship at the US Naval Hospital, St. Albans, NY from 1964-1965; he then started his residency in Anesthesiology at the US Naval Hospital, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Albert Einstein Medical in NYC 1965-1968. Anthony had been a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the US Navy from 1964-1971, when he was discharged he had attained the rank of LCDR, USN. In 1971, he joined the medical staff at Sacred Heart Hospital and practiced Anesthesiology until he retired in 2000, during most of these years he served as the chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology. Anthony was a member of the Board of Trustees at Sacred Heart Health Care System from 2000-2011. Survivors: Wife Maryann J. Barone, Mother Eleanor R. Grandchildren Chloe Sipp, Eric Sipp, Tess Barone and Nathaniel Barone. Brother Ronald J. Barone of Dallas, Tx. Services: A viewing will be held on Saturday February 25 beginning at 11 AM to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 PM both at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave. in Allentown.
