Anita Maria Santos-Rios Cole, 44, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, Anita was a longtime resident of the Jersey Shore before moving to Allentown in 2004.

Anita attended public school in both Red Bank and Long Branch N. J. and enjoyed working in the medical field. She worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and a Medical Assistant, but the career she excelled in and cherished the most was that of a homemaker and mother. Anita had a God given gift for nurturing and she loved not only her own children, but countless others as well. She was devoted to everyone she loved.

Anita was a free spirit, lover of life and a connoisseur in all things fun. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit and smile, but most of all she will be remembered for her kindness and compassion. She was truly love personified and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her fiance John Swiderski III, parents, Josephine and Alfred Bennett; daughters Alicia George (Darius); Allison Hernandez (Miguel); Nakkiyah Chandler; Zakkiyah Chandler; stepdaughter Amber Swiderski; brother, Julio "Junie" Santos-Rios (Cindy); grandchildren, Alondra Cole and Cameron Hornak; nephews, Eugene "Marty" Morales, Julio "Augie" Santos-Rios, Julian Santos-Rios; niece, Sarah Santos-Rios; great-niece, Gia Morales and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Weber Funeral home, 502 Ridge Avenue, Allentown, PA 18102. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. and the service will begin at 5 p.m.
